Finasteride 5mg 30u

Manufacturer: Apotex Inc.

Finasteride Sandoz is for the exclusive use of men and its use is not indicated in women or children (<18 years). Finasteride Sandoz contains a medicine called finasteride. Finasteride is used to treat the early stages of male-type hair loss (also known as androgenic alopecia) in men ages 18 to 41. If, after reading this leaflet, you have any questions regarding male-type hair loss, please consult your doctor. Male-type hair loss is a common disorder believed to be caused by a combination of genetic factors and a particular hormone, called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). The DHT hormone helps to shorten the hair growth phase and makes hair thinner. On the scalp, finasteride specifically lowers the levels of the hormone DHT by blocking the enzyme (type II 5-alpha reductase) that converts testosterone to DHT. Only men with mild to moderate alopecia, who have not lost their hair completely or have lost it at both temples, can expect to benefit from the use of finasteride. In the majority of men who have been on finasteride for 5 years, hair loss slowed, and in at least half of these men, hair growth also improved in some way.
